I have some new work (the paper scissors at the top of this photo) in the show All Together Now, at the Galleries at Moore College of Art and Design, Philadelphia PA. The show is in response to the Barnes Foundation opening in their new location in Philadelphia. Also included in the show are: Gabriel Boyce and Preston Link, Kara Crombie, Steven and Billy Dufala, Joy Feasley, Mark Khaisman, Nick Lenker, Jacque Liu, Matthew Osborn, Hiro Sakaguchi, Anne Seidman, Kate Stewart, Stacey Lee Webber and Mauro Zamora.

My impetus to make art stems from the stuff of daily life. Kitchenware, gilded decorations, textiles, vintage logos and the Do it Yourself culture all serve as inspirations for my work. Each series seeks to question current concepts of preciousness, value, authorship, wearability, and function. At the root of my practice is a desire for continuous creation, dissemination, and discussion. I have found that jewelry, as a portable mode of art and as a recognizable form, can facilitate dialogue. The approachable nature of jewelry and wearables is heightened when familiar objects, materials, or methods of making are used.

My hope is that through common materials and simple techniques, viewers will become reengaged with familiar objects that have become overlooked, bringing enchantment back to our daily life.
